Got a weird text saying I have to go to court for a scam

I got this text message from a number (414) 404-9267. They said I had to go to court for a scam. It was from someone in NC, USA. The whole thing felt off. I never signed up for anything or owed any money to them. They were trying to say I had a debt or something. I didn't pay anything, but the message was just really strange and worrying. No one should be texting people like that out of the blue.

Got a weird text saying I owe money and have to report for a hearing

I got this text message out of nowhere. It says they’re owed money and that I have to report for some hearing. There’s a thing in the message to scan to pay the amount. The number it came from is (215) 686-1678 and it says the address is in Coatesville, PA. I don’t know who this is or what debt they’re talking about. I never signed up for anything with them. It just felt off, like a scam. They didn’t provide any proof or a real company name. I didn’t pay anything, but the whole thing was just strange and unsettling.

Getting calls about medical debt I don't owe from different numbers

I keep getting calls from this scammer using different phone numbers. They're targeting me for money. They claim I owe medical debt. I don't have any medical debt. One number they used was (239) 516-7035 and they said they're from NY, USA. They just keep calling.

Getting calls about a case and documents I never asked for

Somebody keeps calling me. They called my personal cell and even my work phone. They said they have documents for a case against me. They had my name right, but then they asked for my address and what hours I'd be home to sign for these papers. They also wanted me to verify my date of birth and my Social Security number.

I didn't give them anything. As soon as I wouldn't hand over my info, they just hung up on me. This has been going on for about three weeks now, at least twice a week.

When I try calling the number back, they put me on hold and never come back to the line. It's the same thing every time. The number is (877) 643-5957 and it says they're from AL, USA.

Got a weird text saying my payment arrangement is past due

I got a text message out of nowhere. It says “your arrangement is no 30 days past due. Forfeiture of your payments applied and account are immediate.” Then it tells me to call 844-607-9115. At the bottom it says “test STOP to opt out.”

I don’t have any arrangement with them. I don’t even know who they are. The number they gave is 844-607-9115 and it says they’re from Portland, OR. It just felt off. I never signed up for anything.

Got a scary text saying I have a lawsuit for an old medical bill

I got a text message telling me to call a number, so I did. The person on the phone said I have a civil suit against me for an unpaid medical bill from 2010. They named the hospital and then they gave out the last four digits of my Social Security Number to "verify" me. It felt really off.

The caller was a high-pressure fast talker, using a lot of big legal words. They said I could pay $795 right then or go to court and be responsible for up to $4500 in fees. I asked for verification of who they were, but she wouldn't give me a business name or address or anything I could look up online. I ended the call.

I called back and she was even more aggressive and threatening. Still no verifiable information. The text messages kept coming, and finally a third text had a business name. That's what led me to look this up.
