Paid $95 for a credit card they never sent me

I applied for a credit card through directcard.com. They made it seem like I was approved. First they had me pay some activation fees and other stuff. It came to $95 total.

Then I waited a long time. When I called to check on when they were mailing the card I just got the run around. They kept saying it was coming. Finally after all that they told me I was not actually approved. And now they say I have to wait another 30 days before they will supposedly mail back my $95. The whole thing feels like a big scam.

Approved for a credit card then told I was not approved after paying fees

I was approved for a $300 rebuilding credit card and had to pay a $35 application fee and a $60 processing fee. I paid that on May 22, 2026. I allowed 14 business days for them to process my card and called once and they gave me this story that they were a new company and it was taking longer.

So I waited 2 more weeks and called back on the 29th of June and they told me that I can expect my card to be mailed out by the end of the week. I logged into my account today and received a message that said I was no longer approved and could expect a refund by check in 30 days. Now I am afraid that I will not receive a refund.

Approved credit card never came and now they want my Social Security number again

I applied for a credit card on directcard.com and it got approved. They took the fees out of my bank account, $90. Then a good amount of time passed so I emailed them asking about when the card would arrive. I told them I was leaving for vacation and wanted to have it before I left.

They wrote back saying it was still processing and I would get a notification when it shipped. That was about a month ago. I have been emailing back and forth with a few different people there. So I asked them to cancel the application and give me a refund.

Now they sent me two emails asking me to verify my full name, email, phone number, and last four digits of my Social Security number. I told them again I just want it canceled and my $90 back. They keep beating around the bush and not doing it.
