Phone call saying I owed old Capital One debt
He said if I didn't pay a settlement of $3800 that same day he would file paperwork in my county for a default judgment against my property. He even knew the county by name. The email he used was [email protected] and the phone number was (832) 895-7513.
He's a creep and I hope the Feds catch him. I reported him and his bogus letters to my state's attorney general's office. This is wire fraud and theft by deception.
They had my address and social security number
The letter was about some debt collection thing. I didn't recognize the debt at all. It didn't make any sense to me. I'm not sure what they were trying to pull but I didn't send them any money. I just wanted to report this because it felt really off that they had all my personal info like that.
Debt collector called about an old debt I don't owe
The woman on the phone said I owed $3482.44 and that they were going to sue me. She said there was a court date set for "immediately" and that I could get my wages garnished, or even lose my drivers license and professional license. At first she said they had to have payment that day and couldn't wait. Then all of a sudden she talked to her "supervisor" in a few seconds and said they could hold it for two weeks.
They offered the full amount or a one time payment for exactly $2000 less. She wants to call me back in two weeks to give me "time". If it was so urgent, why can they wait two weeks? This smells like a scam to me. I didn't pay them anything.
Phone call and email about a debt I don’t recognize
I don’t know anything about this debt. It feels like a scam or some fake collection thing. I’m reporting it so someone can look into it and maybe stop them from bothering other people.
The email came from [email protected] and the phone number was (888) 614-5835. The letter had an address for 100 Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica, CA.
Letter saying I owe Chase debt from 2017 with no proof
Then they called my employer and told them they were going to garnish my wages. Said papers were being served tomorrow at my place of business on 6.30.26. That felt really strange and threatening.
I don't know what to do. They have my email too, [email protected]. But there's no real proof of anything.
