Email from Excelis Medical Associates about a bill I don’t owe

I got an email from something called Excelis Medical Associates saying I had a bill I needed to pay through a website called Doctor Payments. So I called Excelis first and they told me they use a third party billing company and said to call them instead.

When I called that number a woman answered who sounded Indian and said her name was Maria. I gave her the account number from the email and it had my name on it but also listed my girlfriend’s phone number as mine. The date on the email was a day I was in the ER but my insurance already covered everything. After I gave her the account number I got a bad feeling and hung up.

I called the hospital I went to and my insurance. Both said my balance for that visit was zero dollars and they never sent anything to doctorpayments.com.

Final notice for a bill I never got from my doctor

I got a letter in the mail saying "Final Notice" and that I was 30 days past due for some service I have no idea about. It said "As a courtesy, your physician has asked us to send you this notice in a final effort to bring to your attention this seriously past due bill."

The letter came from PO Box 932888 in Cleveland, OH and had a website doctorpayments.com and a phone number (855) 691-9890. But there was no doctor name or actual company name on it that I recognized. Just that website and phone number.

I don't even know what service they are talking about. It feels strange getting a bill for something I never went in for. I didn't lose any money but it's still frustrating getting these kind of notices in the mail.
