Got a scary call about a decades-old payday loan debt

I got a call from someone at [email protected]. They said they were calling about a payday loan debt from 20 years ago that some third party bought. They were really threatening, saying they'd file criminal charges and put a lien on my house.

The original loan was for $442.80, but they demanded I pay $2442.80 right then or they'd take legal action. I asked them to send me documents to prove this debt, and they just said no. They wouldn't send anything. The number they called from was (888) 907-4753. The whole thing felt really off.
