Email about a loan I never had took 64 dollars from my check

I didn’t do anything. This company [email protected] sent me an email saying I had a loan payment from April. I don’t have any loans. I’m 71 on Social Security. I wrote a check out of my bank for 64.00 and that’s part of my rent money.

My bank is Discover Bank and they won’t dispute it because it’s a check. The bank has the check and my account was closed and they gave me a new account. I can’t get the money back. The company said they would give me 36 dollars back because the other half is for fees. So I’m out 32 dollars for nothing.
