Promised an $8000 loan then asked to buy gift cards

I got a message about getting an $8000 loan from EasyLoanAmerica. I was really excited about it. But then they told me I had to go buy gift cards to get this loan. That's when I realized what was happening.

They contacted me from the phone number (888) 899-5195. Their website is easyloanamerica.com and they use the email [email protected]. They said they were in New York, NY.

It felt wrong immediately. Who asks for gift cards for a loan? I knew it was a scam then and didn't send any money. But they got my hopes up for nothing.
