Couch for sale on Facebook Marketplace led to phishing attempt

I listed a couch for $350 on Facebook Marketplace in Maine. Some guy called from a Florida number and said his daughter would pick it up, she lived nearby. He claimed he sent the money through Venmo and that it was received. That was not true.

I figured out it was a scam and told him to just Venmo his daughter instead. He said he could not give her the cash. So I called him out for being a scammer. Next day I get a random message from Facebook asking me to verify my account, which I did not ask for. I reported it to Facebook but he tried to hack my account anyway.
