Final Notice letter for LLC filing that isn't from the state
The small print does say they're not the state and it's optional. But the big print makes it look like an official government form. The latest one says "Final Notice" on it, and then at the top in a box it says "ALERT: Beware of imposter letters that have been circulating around Virginia. We are not associated with Next Step Fillings." LOL.
I just thought it was funny that they're warning me about other scammers when they're doing the same thing. I didn't lose any money to them, just wanted to report it.
Letter that looks like official state paperwork but isn't
Then I read the middle of the front page and it says "fast filing services will assist for a fee in the filing." So it's not from the government, it's just some company trying to look like it. The website they list is https://form.securefilings.org/va2026oct.
I own a small business and if I was rushing through my mail I could see myself falling for this. It's really deceptive. I don't even know if their service actually works with the state or not.
