Got a weird email about a Geek subscription renewal I never signed up for
I got this email from [email protected] saying my subscription to "Geek" was renewed on March 10, 2026. It says the order is #5761328590 and it's for something called Total AV Disc for 12 months. The total cost they listed is $581.35.
The email says the payment status is completed, but I never signed up for this. I don't even know what this service is. They included a phone number for support or cancellations, but it's all broken up with question marks in the message: 1??1O6??6 ??5??7??4 ??8??5??\`??. That doesn't look right at all.
The whole thing feels off. I was contacted out of the blue and they're saying I owe over five hundred dollars for something I didn't order.
