Email about a protection plan I never signed up for

I got an email saying I renewed some protection plan. I never enrolled in anything like that. So I called the number in the email, and they asked if I was near a computer. I said no, and they told me I had to be near one to cancel the plan. That didn't make sense.

I called the number again later and it just went to some cell phone voicemail. No company name on the email really, just the Geek Squad name. I didn't lose any money but it felt weird.
