Got a job offer to reship packages, something feels wrong

I got contacted about a job from someone at Glideport Shipping. The person's email was [email protected] and the phone number was (515) 341-9402, said they were in Iowa. The whole thing was for an employment offer where I'd receive packages at my home and then reship them to another address.

It just felt off from the start. I didn't lose any money, but the setup doesn't make any sense for a real job. I tried to look up the company and couldn't find anything solid. Now I'm just getting these messages about starting, and I don't want anything to do with it. Something about receiving and reshipping packages for a company I can't verify seems really wrong.

Contacted for a fake job after my real job moved away

I got contacted about a job recently. My job had moved out of state and I was desperate to find new work because of that. A company looking for a quality specialist reached out. I filled out a w-2 and even made a profile on their website.

What made me suspicious was I asked for a pay advance and they couldn't do it. So I did some deep research and found out they were fake. They use a parcel phishing scheme to ship packages bought with stolen credit cards. They send the goods to employees to "inspect" and then ship off.

I still have all the info and receipts to track the packages that were shipped. The contact was a Venus Gray at [email protected].
