Green Dot card charged a monthly fee right after I activated it

I bought a Green Dot bank Visa debit card for a one-time use. Figured it would be simple, just load it and use it once. But within one hour of activating the stupid card, they charged me a monthly fee of $7.95.

I only wanted to use it one time. Didn't think there would be a monthly fee that fast. Now I'm out almost eight bucks for nothing. Their website is greendot.com and their number is (866) 795-7597. Just feels like a total waste of money.
