Thought I was booking directly with the hotel, got charged $500

I thought I was booking my room through the hotel's own website. It turns out I was on guestreservations.com. I needed to cancel just one day of the stay and they would not allow it at all. They charged my card $500 and won't refund it. I never meant to book through a third party. The whole thing feels misleading.
