Job offer from Madison Hobbs on Handshake asked me to deposit a check

I got an email through my Handshake account from someone named Madison Hobbs. She sent me a link to a Teams call and asked some really basic questions. Like maybe five minutes later she said I got the job.

Then she asked me to deposit a check. I already knew it was a scam at that point but I kind of wanted to see what they would do next. The email came from [email protected]. I never gave them any money or anything but it was just weird how fast they tried to move.
