Signed up for hardship help and now getting phishing emails

I was going through a really rough time and Googling for help with a personal crisis. I came across the Helping Hands website and it looked legit. I requested some info about hardship programs from their site.

Since then I've gotten several emails saying I'm eligible for support. They feel like phishing emails to me. I was in a bad place when I signed up so I honestly don't remember exactly what personal info I gave them.

After I started getting the emails I looked into the company more. Found some Reddit posts that confirmed what I was already thinking. This whole thing feels off. Their number is (866) 223-1516 and the website is programs.helpinghandsact.com.
