Letter about title monitoring fee after buying a house
The letter was worded to sound really legit. It said if I didn't pay the required amount, I would be charged more later. They kept saying the fee was for title monitoring services to protect my investment, and that it was all for my benefit. The phone number on it was (862) 420-0053 and the address was 511 S Orange Ave Suite 783, Newark, NJ 07103.
It just felt off. Like they were trying to scare me into paying something I never agreed to. I didn't lose any money but I wanted to report it.

Way down at the very bottom in tiny print it says “this is not a bill. this is a solicitation.” But honestly the whole layout is designed to trick people. I almost wrote a check before I noticed that last line. It feels shady.

The return address is 2834 Hammer Ave Suite 288 in Norco, CA. I looked it up and that's just a mailbox service place, not a real business office. The letter told me to go to their website, Hometitleservices.us/pay, to sign up. The whole thing felt off, like they were trying to scare me into paying for something I didn't need. I didn't send any money, but it really seems like a scam.

It says they are a private title monitoring company and they offer services to protect my investment. Then it says there's a one-time fee of $259. They want a response by February 27, 2026. I never contacted them or asked for this. It just showed up. It feels like they're trying to get money from me for something I didn't sign up for.
