Got a fake job offer from a company I never applied to
I got an email with a contract from a company called HR-Nexfold. The person, Diane Taylor, said I applied on Indeed, but I never did. I tried to look them up and couldn't find a legitimate website or anything about them online.
The contract itself looked okay, but the way this lady pressured me was the real problem. She wanted me to sign the document RIGHT NOW and said she would finish the interview after. I told her I needed to read the whole thing first, and she said she'd call back after I signed and texted her. She also mentioned she would need my payment information. My gut said she'd ask for that the second I signed. In the contract, there's a line saying the employer can "deduct" from the monthly amount.
It all felt wrong. I'm seeing these scam alerts on Indeed lately and I wonder if there's a loophole scammers are using to get our info. This isn't okay.
