Got a strange job offer email from a recruiting firm

I got this email out of the blue from someone named Kate at HR Talent Recruiting Firm. The email says a private equity customer needs to fill a position and a third-party agency recommended me. It says my background is a perfect fit.

They want me to reply with my resume. The email says there's no charge for candidates, but that just felt off to me. I never signed up with any agency they're talking about. The whole thing just doesn't make sense. I didn't reply, but I wanted to report this strange email from [email protected].
