Someone claiming to be a lawyer said they could get my money back

I got a call from someone saying they were a lawyer and they were helping people get their money back from scams. They sounded real enough and I wanted to believe it. They set me up with some tether team they said was involved.

They told me I had to pay $3486 first before I could get the $38000 I lost. That should have been a red flag but I was desperate. I sent the money and now nobody is answering me. The number is 1(608) 407-1693 and the email they used was [email protected]. I don't even know where they really are, they said Oxford, MA but who knows.
