Fake job offer from someone using Indeed
When I tried to look up the name and address they gave me, nothing came up anywhere. No record of the company, no record of the person, just nothing.
I didn't lose any money but I'm pretty sure this is a fake job offer scam. Just wanted to put this out there so other people don't waste their time.
Job listing on Indeed asking for personal info
The address they gave was 311 Raritan ave, Highland Park, NJ 08904. The phone number was (551) 291-9701. I think they are faking a business to give out jobs just to get people's personal info.
I didn't lose much money, only about a dollar, but I'm worried about what they do with the information I gave them.

I was the next day since a packet saying I was hired and what my job description was and my pay. Then sent a link to go to onboarding where I listed all my personal information filled out W-2 forms and I-9.
Then I was told I had to wait for the funds for my equipment. I waited 3 days for them to tell me that my funds were not available. And then they send me a check by picture telling me to deposit it. I also had to go and open up a specific bank account. So they now have all my social security information my driver's license where I live and my new bank information.

I got the job. They emailed me an employment contract, an I9 to fill out, and asked for direct deposit info. Then they said to report back today, 09/04/2026, for an update on training. But today they started asking me how I would have access to a company credit card and wanted to know about my credit. I told them I was homeless before so my credit is not great. They said to wait while they check the next step and I haven't heard anything back. I have screenshots of the whole conversation.

I have the text conversation saved from the next week but when I tried to attach the files here it said I have more than the allowed amount. I might have to find another way to send them. The phone number that texted me was (303) 332-1495 and the email they used was [email protected] which doesn't seem right for Indeed. Their address on the paperwork says 1277 Borregas Avenue in Sunnyvale CA.
I'm not sure what the deal is but I wanted to report this. I didn't lose any money but something felt off about the whole thing.

Then he asked me to send a selfie of me holding my driver's license. I did that. Then he asked for the front and back of my license too. That's when it felt weird. Why would they need that before I even started?
