Job offer asked for my ID picture before I even started

I applied for a parcel delivery service job I saw on Indeed. They emailed me from [email protected] and offered me the position. Sounded pretty normal at first.

Then they asked me to send a picture of my ID. That felt off to me. I didn't send it. They said it was for verification but I never even started working for them yet. No address or company name on the email besides the website. I didn't lose any money but I'm worried about my info.
