Driveway coating job doubled the price after he started

This guy Jack Moss came around Corvallis saying he had extra material to coat my driveway. He didn't have a CCB number, no business card, and kept insisting on cash. His trailer had temporary plates on it which I should have thought more about.

He told me one price and then after he did the work it ended up being double. He quotes you a cost per linear foot but then charges by the square foot. I lost $850 to this.

Home improvement guy approached neighbor then did our driveway too

This guy Jack Moss came to our neighbor and said he had leftover asphalt material and could pave their driveway. He gave them a quote for one amount and then charged double after he finished the job.

I got a firm estimate from him for our driveway too, he did the work and I paid. Our driveways look great honestly and they did a good job. But something about it didn’t feel right and then I saw this review. I have no idea if bad material was used but now I’m starting to wonder.
