Got a text saying I won the California lottery from a Jerry Heath

I got this random text message. It said it was from Jerry Heath, who won the California lottery and was picking people to share his wealth with. The message made it sound like I was selected.

The whole thing felt off. I never entered any lottery, especially not in California. The text came from a phone number with a 724 area code, which is Pennsylvania. The person said they were in PA, USA. Why is a California lottery winner texting me from Pennsylvania? It didn't make any sense.

They didn't get any money from me, but I don't like getting these messages. It's clearly some kind of phishing or scam attempt. I just ignored it and blocked the number.
