Someone reached out about renting to own a house and took my money

I got contacted by John Bowers, said he was working for Emily M King on a property at **** ******** ** ******* ******** *****. They said I could rent to own, take over the mortgage on the place. Sounded like a good deal so I went along with it.

Sent them $2000.00. Used the email [email protected] and they gave me an address at 1324 Eastgate Ave NE, Roanoke, VA 24012. Now I can’t get ahold of anyone. No reply to emails. Nothing.

I think it was some kind of scam. They just took the money and disappeared.
