Getting scary calls from a fake debt collector

I keep getting calls from someone pretending to be a process server in my area. They say they're acting for a place called Kane and Goodman. The person on the phone claims they're going to pursue wage garnishment and that they'll approach me at my place of work. It's clearly just to scare me into paying.

There's been no communication about what this supposed debt is for, or who it's even with. I looked them up. Their website is at kaneandgoodman.com and it's just a generic template with stock photos. Their address is listed as 1441 Main Street in Columbia, SC. The phone number they use is (608) 581-9105. I even checked and their IP address was apparently created in January 2026, which makes no sense.

Everything about this screams scam. They're just trying to frighten people.

Got a spooky call about a debt with my personal info

Someone called me from a 415 area code. They stated my name and the last four digits of my social security number. It really spooked me. They told me to call back at (855) 582-3270. I looked it up and it's for a place called Kane and Goodman at 1441 Main Street in Columbia, SC. They have a website too, kaneandgoodman.com. I don't know anything about a debt with them. The whole thing felt off.

Got a threatening call about a summons from an attorney's office

I got a call from someone saying they were from the attorney's office Kane and Goodman. They said I had a summons. They threatened to file a motion with the county court and then send a summons to my job and my house.

They even said if I wasn't at this address, they'd file it at an old address I had in a different county. They mentioned a case ID number. The whole thing was a threat to get me to call back. The number that called me was (855) 582-3270. It didn't feel right at all.
