Got a fake urgent letter about my mortgage from a spam number

I got this time sensitive letter in the mail dated 2/13/2026. It says "Information for mortgagee only immediate response." It's from something called Leander Bergen County Counsel. It tells me to call immediately for a final attempt to notify, and gives the number 888 801 8290. There's a check for $199 mentioned and a record id: 8576572819.

I checked online right away and everything was flagged as spam. None of the info in the letter matched anything I know about my own information. The mail itself felt off—it wasn't even sent first class, it took over a week to get to me. The postal permit 1535 is flagged as fraud. I looked up the phone number and it's marked as spam on my phone, too. The whole thing is just a scam.
