Woman called from local number about a document delivery

A woman called my personal cell phone from a local number. She said she was from some "document delivery company." First she asked if I would be home between 4-5pm because they had a document to deliver today. I said no and asked what document it was.

She told me all she had was the company name and that I should call Lincoln and Associates for more info. She gave me a phone number (888) 251-3178 and a reference number 800898. I did not call. I looked them up online and found it was a scam. It sounded sketchy and I was suspicious right away.

They are using local numbers now to make people think it is someone they know calling instead of 800 numbers. Just be safe.
