Got scammed after applying for a job I found on LinkedIn
I was looking for jobs on LinkedIn and saw a listing for a customer support specialist. I applied. Two days later I got an email saying I was accepted and had to fill out a questionnaire they sent. It asked for my hours, my contact info, and my bank details. After I did that, they told me to deposit a check. Once I did, they said to withdraw $500 as a sign-on bonus.
They mailed me the check and I deposited it right away. I had just opened this bank account, thinking I was starting the job. Then this afternoon I got a letter from my bank. They said the check was returned and my account is closed. The email came from [email protected]. I lost $500.
