Job offer on Zoom wanted me to print a check for materials

Someone contacted me through LinkedIn about a job. They offered me a position over Zoom. Then they said I needed to print a check to buy the materials for the job. They wanted me to send the check back to them so they could update their software or something. It didn't make any sense. I didn't send them anything. Their email was [email protected].
