Job recruiter kept pushing me to hire a resume writer

Over the past 2-3 months I been talking with someone who says they are an executive recruiter for a board level position. First thing they said was I would need a professional resume writer just to be considered. I said no thanks and stopped talking to them.

But they kept emailing me, saying the position is closing soon and they really want me to apply because of my background. They are using the name of a retired recruiter, Marc Tappis. I called the number on their website and it just goes to a generic voicemail. Did some more digging and it looks like the whole company is fake.
