Phone calls pressured my elderly dad into a car warranty he never needed
They called my 91 year old father who has dementia and talked him into buying two auto warranty policies. First one was March 26 and then another one June 11. He paid $188.72 with his Visa card until we got the card cancelled.
Now they are sending invoices through MEPCO trying to collect $382.44. We never got any signature or proper paperwork. They just kept pressuring him over the phone into buying a warranty for a car that just sits in the garage and doesn't even get driven.
Trying to cancel this policy is a nightmare. They want everything in writing and they send these booklets that make him think he actually bought something. It was just a pressure sell over the phone for something he didnt need.
