Someone called about processing fees and said they’d been trying to reach me since April

A woman named Mackenzie called our business saying she was from Merchant Services corporate office. She said they’ve been trying to reach me since April about an increase and got no response. I told her our POS provider handles that stuff for us.

She asked if I even knew what she was talking about or if I look at my monthly statements. Then she wanted me to pull up my statements so she could review them with me. I asked for her name and contact number and she gave it right away, extension 414. She said processing fees were going up from 2.5 to 3 percent.

I told her I never got any call about this before. She said there hadn’t been a fee increase. I said we’d check with our POS provider to see if there’s anything to worry about.
