Phone call saying I owe money with a case number

I got a call from someone named Mindy. She said she was following up on a complaint filed against me for someone named Txxxx Wxxx. Gave me a case number 744498. She said documents were being prepared to be sent out and I needed to be available to sign for them.

Then she said if they couldn't reach me at home they'd try my job to stop further action. Told me to call 888-237-7370 right away. She kept repeating the numbers like she wanted to make sure I wrote them down.

The whole thing felt strange. No company name was given. Just a phone number and a threat about being served at work. I didn't lose any money but it felt like a debt collection scam.
