Got a fake email about my social security check

I got this email from [email protected]. It said I needed to give them my bank account number to get my social security check direct deposited. The thing is, I don't even get social security checks. It came from an address in Missouri. The whole thing felt off. I didn't give them any information, so no money was taken, but it was clearly a scam email trying to get my details.
