Got a fake check from someone claiming to be from Mountain Dew

I got a message from someone saying they were from Mountain Dew. They sent me a check for $2750.00. They said I would get paid $700 for putting decals on my car for advertisement. The rest of the money was supposed to be for something else, I don't remember exactly. The whole thing felt off. The check came, but I didn't cash it. The person contacted me from the phone number (559) 214-8627. Nothing about it seemed right, so I didn't go through with it. I didn't lose any money, but it was clearly a scam.
