Getting messages about someone trying to use my deactivated card

I got a message from my credit card company. It was about a virtual card I already deactivated. They said someone keeps trying to use it. They can't get any cash because I closed it, but there's been several attempts to buy something or get money from the account. It's just weird and I don't like it.
