Got a job offer but they want $300 before I can start

I got contacted about an online support position. It sounded like a real job at first. But then they said I had to pay a $300 fee to join the program before I could start working.

The person contacting me used the phone number (480) 208-3343 and the email [email protected]. They said it was for a job in the United States. Asking for money upfront for a job just doesn't feel right. I didn't send any money, so I didn't lose any, but it seems like a scam.
