Got a text saying I owe money to a company I've never heard of
I called their customer service number. The rep wanted more of my information. I gave my name. They already had my phone number, but they said they could only find an account under the name Barbara "R", who apparently used my number. This is an internet service provider that doesn't even offer service where I live.
Then they told me they needed my address to fill out a form to remove my number from the account. I said no. They already had more info on me than they should have. I told them they could go to hell.
