Email about a PayPal charge that locked my computer
So I called. A man answered, he had a Pakistani or Indian accent. He asked me to log onto "UltraView" so I could see the charge. That didn't feel right. I told him I was going to call Ecautious.com and the police because it seemed like a scam. That's when he said he could take control of my PC and stop me from ever logging on again. And that's exactly what happened. My computer is completely locked up now. I can't use it at all. I didn't lose any money but this is a huge mess.
Email pretending to be PayPal with fake purchase info
The sender was [email protected] and they had a phone number (865) 208-6585 listed. It didn’t feel right so I checked and yeah it’s not really PayPal. Just someone trying to get me to pay for something I never ordered.
Didn’t lose any money but still annoying getting these phishing emails.
