Got a weird email from PayPal about a 3 cent payment
It said if I didn't authorize it, I should call PayPal Customer Care at 1(800) 894-1480 right away. I never authorized any payment like that. It just feels off to get an email about a random three cent transaction. I don't know who that person is.
Got a fake invoice for a coffee maker I never bought
I looked it up online to see if this was happening to other people. I found a post on Ecautious.com about the same exact thing. They had the same address listed, which is for a hotel in California. The whole thing was a phishing attempt.
Got a fake PayPal email about a Bitcoin charge I didn't make
It tells me to contact the PayPal Billing Department immediately if I don't recognize it. But the number it gives is +1 (970) 303-2334. That's not PayPal's real number. The email it came from looks weird too, like a personal email address.
The message says the transaction is pending and might become non-refundable. It's clearly a scam trying to get me to call that number. I didn't authorize any Bitcoin purchase and no money was taken, but getting an email like this is really concerning. It looks official but the contact info is all wrong.
