Mail about a fine with a stamp saying it’s not from the government

I got this letter in the mail from something called paysafety.org, address PO Box 73127 in Washington DC. It looks like some kind of violation notice with fines and fees listed. But there’s a stamp right on the envelope that says it’s not a government document.

Then in the small print under the violation fines it says they don’t have any contact or affiliation with the government. So it’s confusing. They want me to call (888) 201-1992 or email [email protected]. Their website is www.paysafety.org.

I didn’t lose any money but it felt strange getting something that looks official but then says it’s not. Just wanted to put this out there.

Letter claiming I owe money for an OSHA manual with legal threats

I got this letter in the mail saying I need to send a $295 check or pay online at www.paysafety.org to get some OSHA manual. It says if I don’t send payment I could face penalties under some law code 29 USC ss 666.

They’re using government violation codes to try and scare me into paying. It feels really shady. I didn’t order anything and there’s no company name on the letter that I recognize. Just a PO Box in DC and an email address. I’m not sending them anything.
