Job offer with no interview asked for my bank info
The email was from [email protected] and they wanted me to fill out employment forms with personal and financial information. That didn't make any sense to me. Who hires someone without even talking to them first? I knew right away something was off.
So I googled the name and the company and found other reports about it on Ecautious.com. I still have all the attachments in my email if anyone needs to see them.
Job offer without an interview on Handshake felt off
Then I got an email with a full job offer. No interview, no talking to anyone at all. Just a complete offer out of nowhere. I have the email saved as a PDF.
I’ve been seeing a lot of stuff like this happening to people just trying to find an honest job. Just wanted to put this out there.
Job offer on Handshake turned out to be fake after I sent bank info
I even looked up the guy I was emailing on Instagram and he was in the same field, same city, we had mutual friends. He emailed back saying I got the job and sent a whole package of employment documents and benefit stuff. I filled out one form but told him I wanted to wait on the direct deposit form because I didn't want to give out my bank info. He said it was necessary for my onboarding profile so I sent it.
After I sent it I got suspicious. I tried clicking around their website more and most of the links didn't work. I went back to Handshake and the job posting and all our messages were gone. Their phone number is (503) 784-0788 and the website is peetkeglerllc.com.
