Got threatening voicemails from a debt collector named Kim Lopez

I got a bunch of calls from a number I didn't recognize, (480) 956-4282. I didn't answer, so all I have are the voice mails. One of them said it was from Kim Lopez at Pinnacle Asset Recovery. The message said it was about a pending matter in their office and that they'd be making a final decision today, with or without my statement. It ended with "consider this your final warning. Good luck to you."

Earlier voicemails were talking about a civil matter or civil complaint that had my name, date of birth, and social security number. The whole thing felt off. I'm sure if I had answered, they would have asked for money. I just ignored it and reported the number instead.

Got a call about a debt they can't explain, agent was rude and hung up

I got a call from Pinnacle Asset Recovery. They already had my birthday and the last four of my social. They had an incorrect email and my actual one, too. The call came from an Alabama number, but when I called it back it went to their main line. Their address is in Ohio, so that felt off right away.

They said I had a delinquent loan from Advance Cash, but it could be from any of their hundreds of sub companies. They couldn't tell me the original loan amount or when I even took it out. All they would send was something with my name, that it was from Advance Cash, a reference number, and an amount owed. They said I could settle for $328 instead of the full $2054.11. If I didn't, they said they'd see me in court.

The man I spoke to was named Raven Wade. If I asked just about any question, he got very curt and snippy. He'd either put me on hold before I could finish talking, or he'd say "fine, we'll take this to court then" and immediately hang up.

Hostile debt collector scammed me for $420 over a fake 12-year-old debt

I got a call from Pinnacle Asset Recovery saying I owed money for a cash advance from twelve years ago. When I told them I didn't owe it and disputed the debt, they got really hostile. They said they were going to freeze all my accounts and take me to court. The more I argued, the meaner they got.

I've been sick over this ever since that call. Then I saw a charge for $420 come out of my bank account. It showed up as "Competitive Contact SO."

I feel so stupid for getting scammed out of that money. I knew I was right the whole time, but they pressured and threatened me until I paid.
