Fake invoice email using my boss’s name and wrong date

I work for KJ Unnerstall Construction in Washington, Missouri. Got an email to our invoice account with an invoice and a W-9 attached. The email had a whole conversation thread using our owner Kurt Unnerstall’s name like he was part of it.

The company was from another state and there were spelling mistakes in the email. It said the invoice was overdue but the attached document was dated 6/12/2026, which is the same day the email came in. That didn’t make any sense.

We forwarded everything to our IT firm already. I’m attaching the documents here too.
