Got scammed for $500 through a fake job offer from my college

I got recruited through my college, Hartnell College. Someone was posing as being from there. They contacted me and it seemed legit because of that. I deposited a check they sent to my email. Then they had me send $500 through Apple Pay. The money is just gone. Their phone is 1(937) 304-4563 and their email is [email protected]. They said they were in Ohio. I feel so stupid for falling for it.
