Contacted for a remote job that seems like a scam

I got contacted on Indeed for a remote position. They sent a contract through Google Docs, which sent up a red flag right away, but I said let’s see where they are going with this. The job was supposed to be as an assistant.

From what I can gather, it's a scam to get you to deposit a fake check. Then they want you to send the uncleared money back to them. The check will bounce, and the money you sent won't be refunded. The contact was from phone (901) 206-4213 and email [email protected].
