Charged $41 instead of $1 for property tax records

I was looking for a way to get my property tax history and found their site. It said I would be charged just $1 to see my record online and get an email copy. So I put in my info and went ahead.

Then I see I was charged $41 instead. Not $1. I looked around and it seems like this is what they do, they charge way more and then keep trying to take more money every month. I only wanted the tax info, not this.

I didn't sign up for any monthly thing. Just a one time $1 fee they said. Now I'm out $41 and worried they'll try again.

Paid one dollar for a search but got charged thirty one dollars

I tried to pay $1 for a single search on their website. I denied every attempt at adding services, but when I checked my account I found I was charged $31. They charged me additional money when they were never supposed to. I only wanted the one search for a dollar.

I didn't sign up for anything extra. I was careful about that. But they still took the money anyway. No explanation or anything. Just a bigger charge than what I agreed to.
