Google Meet call saying I won a Publishers Clearing House prize

So this guy called me on Google Meet out of nowhere. He said I won something from Publishers Clearing House.

He had an email address [email protected] and said he was in Hurricane, UT. I didn't give him any money or anything but it felt really off. He just kept talking about how I won and needed to do stuff to claim it. No company name on anything he sent me either. Just felt strange.

Phone call at 1 in the morning about winning 5 million dollars

I got a phone call at 1:12 AM on June 4th. It was a voice message on my machine. The recording said it was Publishers Clearing House and that we won $5,000,000 in some special drawing.

The message told us to call "Ed Fischer" at 718 878-1363 and mention reward claim 73061. The number that showed up on my machine was 1-111-111-1111. They just repeated the same info for about 3 minutes. Really disruptive to sleep.

Letter saying I won millions with a check inside but it felt wrong

I got a letter in the mail saying I won $2.5 million. Sounded too good to be true but there was a check in there for $9600 too. It said I had to call a number before I deposited the check.

So I called the number and started asking questions about how this all works. They just hung up on me. Didn't even try to explain nothing. That's when I knew something was off. I didn't deposit the check or send them anything.
