Prize call saying I need a license to claim winnings

I got a call saying I won a prize through Publishers Clearing House. To get the money, they said I had to pay to be licensed and register for it first. They told me to go to Dollar General and get a gift card for the amount.

When I asked what they meant by licensed, the answer didn't make sense. He just said I needed to be licensed for my own safety. Then he told me to get an Amazon gift card instead and keep the receipt for processing purposes. The email they used was [email protected] and they gave an address in Hubert, KS. I didn't go through with it because none of it added up.

Call saying I won millions and a Mercedes from Publishers Clearing House

Got a call from someone saying they were from the head office of Publishers Clearing House. They told me I had won 5.4 million dollars and that they were going to deliver a Mercedes to me.

I just told them this has to be a scam and hung up. Their email was [email protected] and they said their address was in Rigby, ID. Didn't lose any money but it was pretty obvious.

Mail about a check from Publishers Clearing House with no real company

I got this envelope in the mail from Canada. It looked like it was from Publishers Clearing House but something felt off. There was a check inside and a letter saying I needed to call Richie Morgan, who they said was the chief financial officer. The number was 1-902-314-3978.

We took the check to ***** ***** to see if it was real. They checked it out and said it was fake. So I never called the guy back. I don't know what would have happened if I did call and told him I deposited it in my account. I'm not sure what his plan was. We are going to call him anyway just to see.

Phone call saying I won two million from Publishers Clearing House

Someone called me from (304) 727-0001 saying I won $2,000,000.00 from Publishers Clearing House out of Charleston, WV. He said his name was David Sawyer and claimed to be a General Manager. He already had my address and confirmed it with me.

Then he asked my age and what bank I use. He wanted to know the balance on my statement but I refused to tell him that. He also made me spell my name out for him. Then he said I had to send over $9,800.00 to the IRS in Larion, Virginia before I could get the prize money. I told him I was not sending any money to anyone and he just hung up.
